1975 TOYS R' US AD

Found this on the amazing Plaid Stallions site, always a good place to visit for a sentimental bastard like yours truly.
I remember having that Sesame Street town and the Weebles tree. Man...top choice!
Do yourself a favor and bookmark those cats stat.

SEARS ON NEWBRIDGE ROAD

Here is a great old image of the Sears on Newbridge Road across from the Mid-Island Plaza/Broadway Mall from back in the day. I remember going here with my grandfather regularly. Good times. Sears is still there to this day, but it doesn't have the flavor it did in the 60s and 70s!
Big thanks to Glen for passing this image along. -Ed.

THE LAST ROY ROGERS ON LONG ISLAND
Head over to The Caldor Rainbow to check out our man's great report on the last freestanding Roy Rogers on Long Island, possibly in all of the Tri-State area, located right in the heart of fellow Metro Recycling contributors Matty B. and Danny G.'s hometown of Shirley. From the looks of it, the owners are still keeping the vintage element of the eatery alive and well in the 21st century, and here's hoping this historic artifact of American fast food remains standing for a little while longer. Those burgers are the BOMB!
